Corporate/Group Programs

The objective of Driving Dynamics is to help our customers achieve reductions in their fleet accident rates. We have been highly successful in achieving that objective. Some of these achievements are outlined below.

Driving DYNAMICS has worked closely with many companies in the overall design of their fleet safety programs. In the implementation of these programs, our primary role is behind-the-wheel driver training.

The overall purpose of the Driving DYNAMICS Advanced Driving Course is to give drivers a new set of skills which will greatly improve their ability to:

  • Anticipate and recognize potential problems on the road.
  • React quickly when necessary.
  • Take the right action to avoid an accident.
  • Maintain control of their vehicle in potential skidding situations.

We teach these skills through a series of carefully planned driving exercises, supplemented by relatively brief classroom sessions.

The course is delivered in one eight-hour session. During the first several hours we work on anticipation and recognition skills with the objective of giving drivers an additional second of time to deal with a potential problem. Studies have shown that this "one-second advantage" can prevent as much as 90% of all accidents.

During the late morning and the afternoon we show drivers how to use the capabilities of their car, as well as their own capabilities, to react to and avoid potential danger.

An important segment is devoted to skid control, and one of the afternoon highlights is a session in our "Controlled Slide Car", which can replicate any type of skid or slide at relatively slow speeds on dry pavement. We use the slide car in every course.

We conduct the hands-on training in large, open paved areas secluded from other traffic where the exercises can be performed in complete safety.

Drivers take the course using their own corporate vehicles.

At the end of the day the students have dealt successfully with a series of challenging situations. Many say they have learned more about driving and accident avoidance in one day with us than they have in all their years of driving.

We have given courses in over 150 cities across the country. It is usually most time and cost-effective for us to travel to where your drivers are. To accomplish this we use specially designed truck/trailer rigs which take us directly to the driving site and convert into self-contained portable classrooms.

The favorable reactions of our students have been consistently confirmed by studies showing very significant reductions in our clients' accident rates. Here are some examples:

  • We recently completed a study of the accident rates of a client for whom we have trained several thousand drivers. During the six-month period covered in the study, the accident rate of the group we had trained was less than half of the group we had not trained.
  • We have trained the majority of the drivers for one major division of another client. In the year following the training, the accident rate of that division was less than half that of the full company.
  • We trained all of the drivers for a division of a pharmaceutical company. In the three years prior to the training, the division had an accident rate in excess of 30% every year. After the training, the division went for 425 days without a single accident.
  • We recently completed a survey of the people who have taken the open enrollment courses which we offer to the general public in New Jersey. We asked for their accident history in the eighteen months prior to the course, compared to the same period after. The respondents showed an aggregate rate reduction of more than 50%.
